YOUR TASKS:
- Ensure timely customs clearance of material into Doha Gateway.
- Ensure correct documentation is prepared for customs clearance and data entered into
customs computer to the required standard.
- Maintain relations with the Customs Authorities and work to the standards and time
scales that are required by customs officials.
- Checking tariff code currency and valuation of invoice and ensuring accurate calculation
of duties payable to Doha Customs for dutiable shipments.
- Checking the duty exemption status of the shipments accordingly and initiating steps as
required.
- File and maintain shipment and customs documentation in a neat and orderly fashion at
all times.
- Adhere to work timings, policies and procedures of the company, and ensure that self is
well groomed as per DHL dress code at all times.
- All Agents need to report & sign off for duty as per the schedule issued.
- The required documentation, payments, driver details, contents of shipments & necessary
- Approvals must be checked prior to departing for the border to avoid delays on clearance
or incorrect duty payments.
- Once clearance has finished at the border/Airport, the Agent must return to DHL to hand
over all customs documentation & relevant paperwork to raise the customs duties and
other charges.
- Any FTL/LTL/Truck movements need to be notified to the correct DHL staff.
- Communication between Agents must take place to ensure all tasks for each shift are
covered, and any unfinished work to be handed to the next shift.
- All discrepancies from origin HUB must be given to immediate supervisor/Team leader in
written communication.
- Ministry Approvals must be obtained by DHL Agent at the border/Airport; this may also
include obtaining Approvals from Customs main office which needs to be communicated
to the immediate supervisor.
- GSOP & Security procedures are to be followed; all trucks are to be sealed and the
correct DHL Line Haul sheet completed, mentioning any discrepancies upon arrival at the
border
